Tianyu Gao (Peter)
I am currently an M.S.E. student in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a concentration in Human Language Technology at Johns Hopkins University. My academic background spans computer science, data science, and artificial intelligence, and I have developed broad research interests in speech processing, natural language processing, multimodal learning, optimization algorithms, and trustworthy AI.
I am interested in building intelligent systems that are both theoretically grounded and practically meaningful. In particular, I am motivated by research on speech and language technologies, expressive speech generation, multilingual and multimodal modeling, and the application of AI to real-world problems. I hope to contribute to research that connects methodological innovation with practical impact.
Outside of academics, I enjoy traveling, photography, hiking, and exploring frontier technologies. I like discovering new places, capturing meaningful moments through images, and staying curious about emerging developments in AI, computing, and innovative tools that may shape the future.
